The Wolf Pack (24-43-4-2, 54 pts., .370) finished their home schedule this past week with a 4-3 victory Friday night over Springfield and a 2-1 defeat to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Saturday night.  Then, in Bridgeport on Sunday, the Wolf Pack fell behind 3-0 in the second period vs. the Sound Tigers, and then fell one goal short of coming all the way back in the third, falling by a score of 3-2.  Marek Hrivik and Chris Brown had a goal and an assist each in Friday’s win, Adam Tambellini scored the only Wolf Pack goal on Saturday, and Matt Carey and Dan Catenacci had Sunday’s third-period tallies.

This week:  This is the last week of the season for the Wolf Pack, as they continue a stretch of four straight road games to finish the campaign.  The Wolf Pack will be in Albany on Wednesday night for a 7:00 PM game vs. the Devils, and then head to Utica for a 7:00 date with the Comets on Friday night.  The curtain comes down on the season Saturday night in Springfield, as the Wolf Pack and the Thunderbirds face off at 7:05.

Wednesday, April 12 at the Albany Devils (New Jersey) at the Times Union Center, 7:00 PM

  • The Devils come into the week in a flat-footed tie with St. John’s for the last playoff in the North Division, and three points ahead of fifth-place Utica.
  • Rookie forward Nick Lappin, who has 13-13-26 in 32 AHL games on the year, had four goals in Albany’s three games this past week, two wins and a loss.
  • This is the last of four games on the year between the Wolf Pack and Devils, and the second of two Hartford visits to Albany.  The Wolf Pack are 0-2-1-0 in the season series so far, with a 4-3 loss April 1 to show for their only previous trip to the Times Union Center.

Friday, April 14 at the Utica Comets (Vancouver) at the Utica Memorial Auditorium, 7:00 PM

  • After a three-game winning streak, the Comets have been shut out in their last two games, a 5-0 loss at Rochester on Saturday night and a 1-0 home defeat Sunday vs. St. John’s.
  • This game concludes a four-game season series between the Wolf Pack and the Comets, and the Wolf Pack are 1-1-1-0 through the first three games.  In the only previous matchup in Utica November 12, the Wolf Pack fell in overtime by a score of 3-2.
  • Darren Archibald, who has 22-22-44 in 73 games on the year, is the Comets’ leading goal-scorer, and he is tied for the team points lead with Alexandre Grenier (17-27-44 in 66 GP) and Curtis Valk (16-28-44 in 72 GP).

Saturday, April 15 at the Springfield Thunderbirds (Florida) at the MassMutual Center, 7:05 PM

  • This season finale is the last of ten matchups on the year between the Wolf Pack and the Thunderbirds, and the Wolf Pack have won two of the last three.  All told, Hartford is 4-5-0-0 on the year vs. Springfield, 1-3-0-0 in four road games.
  • The Thunderbirds come into the season’s final week on a three-game losing streak, and 2-6-1-0 in their last nine games.
  • Springfield point-scoring leader Chase Balisy (16-27-43 in 73 GP) scored for the Thunderbirds in the second period of Friday night’s 4-3 loss to the Wolf Pack at the XL Center, and then lit the lamp again Saturday night at Lehigh Valley, one of Springfield’s 46 shots in a 4-2 setback vs. the Phantoms.
