The Wolf Pack (30-30-5-3, 68 pts., .500) split a home-and-home series with the Hershey Bears this past weekend, falling 2-1 to the Bears Saturday at the XL Center and breaking back with a 4-2 win in Hershey on Sunday.  Wolf Pack points leader Cole Schneider (15-29-44 in 68 GP) had the only Hartford goal in Saturday’s game, and defenseman Ryan Lindgren netted the game-winner, and had an assist, in Sunday’s win, for his first pro points.

This week:  The Wolf Pack have a trio of home games on their schedule this Easter Week, starting with a Wednesday-night matchup with the Springfield Thunderbirds at the XL Center.  That game faces off at 7:00 PM, and then the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins come to Hartford for a 7:15 game on Friday night.  On Saturday night, the Wolf Pack and the Bridgeport Sound Tigers complete their in-state rivalry season series, with faceoff at 7:00 at the XL Center.

Wednesday, March 28 vs. the Springfield Thunderbirds (Florida) at the XL Center, 7:00 PM

  • This is another Wolf Pack “Click It or Ticket Family Value Pack” game.  The Family Value Pack includes two tickets, two sodas and two hot dogs, all for just $40.
  • This game is also the Wolf Pack’s last “Winning Wednesday” of the season.  If the Wolf Pack win, fans can show their Winning Wednesday ticket at the Agera Energy Ticket Office at the XL Center and receive a free ticket to the next Wolf Pack home game, which is this Friday, March 30 vs. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (some restrictions apply). 
  • This is the last of five straight road games for the Thunderbirds, who have lost the first four games of the stretch and enter the week six points behind the Wolf Pack in the Atlantic Division standings, at 28-33-5-1 for 62 points and a .463 points percentage.
  • This is the second-to-last of a dozen games on the season between the Wolf Pack and their most familiar rivals, and the Wolf Pack have gone 3-5-1-1 in the season series thus far.  The teams have split four previous XL Center meetings.
  • Springfield leading point-scorer Curtis Valk (17-33-50 in 64 GP), who hit the 50-point mark with assists on both Thunderbird goals in a 4-2 loss at Rochester Saturday night, has 5-9-14 in the ten games between the Wolf Pack and Springfield this year.

Friday, March 30 vs. the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins (Pittsburgh) at the XL Center, 7:15 PM

  • At this game, and all Wolf Pack Friday-night home games, fans can enjoy $1 hot dogs and $2 beers through the start of the second period, presented by Dave & Buster’s.
  • The Wolf Pack have won the last two games between themselves and the Penguins, and are 3-1-0-1 against Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on the season.  That includes wins in both of the Penguins’ earlier visits to Hartford, 7-3 on December 15 and 1-0 in overtime January 21.
  • The 38-20-6-2 (84 pts., .636) Penguins finished last week 2-3-2-0 in their last seven games, and have dropped behind Providence and into third place in the Atlantic Division.
  • Goaltender Tristan Jarry has played three of Wilkes-Barre/Scranton’s last four games, after returning from a recall stint with the parent Pittsburgh Penguins.

Saturday, March 31 vs. the Bridgeport Sound Tigers (Islanders) at the XL Center, 7:00 PM

  • The first 1,000 kids 12 or younger into this game will receive a free Wolf Pack youth jersey, compliments of Keybank.
  • The Sound Tigers stopped a three-game losing streak with a 6-3 win at Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Sunday.  Bridgeport enters the week at 32-26-5-3 (72 pts., .545), four points up on the Wolf Pack and nine points behind Charlotte for the Atlantic Division’s last playoff spot.
  • Former Wolf Pack captain Ryan Bourque scored twice for Bridgeport Sunday in Wilkes-Barre, and has 5-2-7 in the last six games.
  • This is the finale of a ten-game season series between the AHL’s two Connecticut rivals.  The Wolf Pack are 3-5-1-0 on the year vs. the Sound Tigers, including wins in two of the previous three meetings, and are 1-2-1-0 in home action in the head-to-head series.

Pack Tracks:  Friday, April 13, the Wolf Pack play their last home game of the season, hosting the Binghamton Devils in a 7:00 PM game.  That is “Fan Appreciation Night”, as the Wolf Pack pay tribute to all the great fans who have supported the team throughout the 2017-18 season.

Once again this season, fans can enjoy $1 hot dogs and $2 beers at every Friday Wolf Pack home game, through the start of the second period, presented by Dave & Buster’s.  After this Friday, The Wolf Pack’s last Friday-night date of the season is April 13, when they host the Binghamton Devils at 7:15 PM.

Each of the Wolf Pack’s Sunday and Wednesday home games will feature the Wolf Pack’s “Click It or Ticket Family Value Pack”.  The Family Value Pack includes two tickets, two sodas and two hot dogs, all for just $40.  After this Wednesday, the final Family Value Pack game of the year is Sunday, April 8, as the Springfield Thunderbirds visit for a 5:00 PM game.
