WOLF PACK DROP 4-2 DECISION TO CHECKERS IN WEEKEND FINALE

Oct 17, 2026

CHARLOTTE, NC – The Hartford Wolf Pack dropped their fifth straight game on Saturday night, 4-2 to the Charlotte Checkers at Bojangles Coliseum.

Two early goals from the home side had the Wolf Pack in a hole just 6:37 into the hockey game.

Brett Chorske broke the ice 1:07 into the game when a Gracyn Sawchyn bid from the right-wing side pinballed around and ended up behind Gabriel Carriere. Chorske was in the right place at the right time and tucked home his first goal of the season to make it 1-0.

Tobias Björnfot extended the lead to 2-0 at 6:37 when he blasted a shot through traffic from the left-wing point. The goal, assisted by Angus Crookshank and Nathan Bastian, was his first of the season.

Jaroslav Chmelař stopped the bleeding and got the Wolf Pack on the board at 8:45, scoring his first goal of the season in just his second outing. On their first powerplay of the night, Glenn Gawdin would take a pass at the right-wing point and fling a shot toward the net.

Chmelař provided the fly-by, deflecting the puck home to make it a 2-1 contest.

Liam Greentree drew the Wolf Pack even with their second powerplay goal of the contest 3:48 into the middle stanza. Gawdin worked into the right-wing circle and sent a pass to the stick of Greentree. The rookie forward tipped the puck by Cooper Black, making it 2-2.

Jack Devine restored the lead for the Checkers at 10:44, notching his third goal of the campaign. Devine intercepted a clearing attempt on the left-wing side, worked to the top of the circle, then ripped a shot over the left shoulder of Carriere to make it 3-2.

Crookshank doubled the lead to 4-2 8:13 into the third period, notching a powerplay tally. Cole Schwindt fired a shot from the right-wing circle that Carriere denied, but Crookshank was able to find the rebound and lift it over the netminder for his first goal as a Checker.

The Wolf Pack pushed hard in the final period but were unable to draw any closer on the scoreboard. The club fired 15 shots on net in the final frame, ending the contest with a season-high 35 shots.

The Pack is back at PeoplesBank Arena Friday, Oct. 23! The puck drop is set for 7:00 p.m. as the Wolf Pack welcome the Providence Bruins to town. ‘Wolf Pack Pregame’ begins at 6:45 p.m. on AHLTV of FloHockey and Mixlr.
