THE HART BEAT – VOLUME 2, ISSUE 3

HARTFORD, CT – After two good efforts came up short last weekend in Charlotte, NC, the Hartford Wolf Pack return home looking to get back in the win column this Friday night.

After a date with the Bruins, the Pack will hit the road for a season-high eight straight road games.

The Week That Was:

Friday, Oct. 16, 2026, at Charlotte Checkers (1-2 L): Donovan Sebrango opened the scoring 1:38 into the middle frame, scoring his first goal as a Checker from the right-wing circle. Bryce McConnell-Barker responded at 8:50, drawing the game to 1-1 entering the final stanza.

McConnell-Barker’s goal featured a two-on-one rush up the ice. On the right wing side, McConnell-Barker outwaited a defenseman, worked into the slot, and ripped home his first goal of the season.

A late powerplay proved costly for the Wolf Pack, however. A turnover in the offensive zone led to a two-on-one rush for the Checkers shorthanded. John Beecher dished off to Hunter St. Martin, who beat Callum Tung for his first goal of the season at 16:14. The shorthanded strike stood as the game-winning goal.

Saturday, Oct. 17, 2026, at Charlotte Checkers (2-4 L): The Wolf Pack fired a season-high 35 shots on goal Saturday night, playing a strong game. Unfortunately, it fell just short as the Checkers completed the weekend sweep.

Two early goals from the home side had the Wolf Pack trailing 2-0 by the 6:37 mark. Brett Chorske broke the ice 1:07 in, then Tobias Björnfot sifted a shot through traffic at 6:37 to make it 2-0.

Jaroslav Chmelař got the Wolf Pack on the board at 8:44, tipping home a Glenn Gawdin shot on the powerplay for his first goal of the season in just his second game.

Liam Greentree’s third goal of the season came at 3:48 of the second period. The rookie forward positioned himself in front of the net and deflected a Gawdin feed by Cooper Black to make it 2-2.

Jack Devine restored the lead for the Checkers at 10:44, intercepting an outlet pass, working into the slot, and beating Gabriel Carriere to make it 3-2. Angus Crookshank’s powerplay tally 8:13 into the third period allowed the Checkers to pull away, making it 4-2.

The Week Ahead:

Friday, Oct. 23, 2026, Vs. Providence Bruins (7:00 p.m.): The Wolf Pack and Bruins meet for the second of twelve times this season on Friday night. This will be the first of six meetings at PeoplesBank Arena.

Gawdin opened the scoring 10:01 into the game, backhanding home a rebound for his first goal as a member of the Wolf Pack. Callum Tung made 28 saves in the victory, collecting his first career AHL shutout.
