BOB WOODS AND JOHN STEVENS JOIN HARTFORD WOLF PACK COACHING STAFF

HARTFORD, CT – New York Rangers President and General Manager Chris Drury announced today that the club has named Bob Woods and John Stevens to the coaching staff of the AHL’s Hartford Wolf Pack.

Woods will serve as Associate Coach under Head Coach Jay Leach, while Stevens will serve as an Assistant Coach.

Woods, 58, most recently served as an Assistant Coach with the NHL’s Seattle Kraken during the 2024-25 season. He has spent 14 seasons in the NHL as an Assistant Coach, working for the Kraken (2024-25), Minnesota Wild (2017-18 – 2023-24), Buffalo Sabres (2016-17), Anaheim Ducks (2012-13 – 2013-14) and Washington Capitals (2009-10 – 2011-12).

The native of LeRoy, SK, has also served as the Head Coach of the WHL’s Saskatoon Blades (2014-15 – 2015-16), ECHL’s Mississippi Sea Wolves (2001-02 – 2004-05) and AHL’s Hershey Bears (2007-08 – 2008-09). He guided the Bears to a Calder Cup Championship in his second and final season as the club’s Head Coach prior to joining the parent Capitals as an Assistant Coach.

Woods also spent parts of three seasons (2005-06 – 2007-08) as an Assistant Coach with the Bears.

Prior to joining the coaching ranks, Woods enjoyed a lengthy career of over 700 professional games in both the ECHL and AHL. He won the 1997 Calder Cup as a member of the Bears and was named to the ECHL Hall of Fame in 2012.

Stevens, 32, joins the Wolf Pack after spending the 2025-26 season with Liiga’s Kiekko-Espoo. Prior to that, Stevens spent nine seasons in the AHL with the Abbotsford Canucks, Utica Comets, and Bridgeport Sound Tigers. He appeared in 389 games, recording 163 points (65 g, 98 a).

The native of Springfield, MA, won the 2025 Calder Cup as a member of the Canucks.
