Wolf Pack Fans Generous with Holiday Donations

Jan 12, 2015

The Wolf Pack and its fans made major contributions to three worthy causes this Holiday season.

The Wolf Pack conducted a Thanksgiving food drive at home games Friday, November 14 and Sunday, November 16, with any fan donating five or more cans of food receiving a voucher for a free ticket to a future Wolf Pack home game.  Pack fans responded to the tune of 3,075 pounds of food, which was then donated to Foodshare.

The Wolf Pack’s annual “Teddy Bear Toss”, in which fans are invited to throw soft toys on to the ice when the Wolf Pack scores its first goal of the game, took place December 12, when the Pack hosted the Worcester Sharks at the XL Center.  After a late-first period goal by defenseman Conor Allen, the good fans of Hartford hurled no fewer than 2,033 cuddly toys out of the stands, and those were passed along to Toys for Tots, in conjunction with NBC Connecticut’s “Joy of Sharing” campaign, and St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

Finally, on Friday, January 2, the Wolf Pack held a winter clothing drive at their home game against the St. John’s IceCaps, just in time for an intense blast of arctic weather.  Similar to the food drive, the Pack offered a voucher for a complimentary Wolf Pack ticket as a thank you to any fan donating a winter hat, jacket or scarf.  Again, the response was enthusiastic, as 426 items of winter clothing were collected and donated to Charities of Hope.

The Wolf Pack’s next action is a trip to Norfolk this Friday night, January 16 to battle the Admirals.  Faceoff is 7:30 PM, and all of the action can be heard live on Fox Sports Radio 1410, and on-line at www.foxsportsradio1410.com and iHeartRadio.  Video streaming is available at www.ahllive.com.

The next home game for the Wolf Pack is Wednesday, January 21, when the Providence Bruins visit the XL Center for a 7:00 game.  All Wolf Pack Wednesday home games are “Winning Wednesdays”.  If the Wolf Pack win, each fan can get a free ticket to the next Pack home game (some restrictions apply).  Also, January 21 is the next chance to take advantage of the Wolf Pack’s “Click It or Ticket Family Value Pack”.  The Family Value Pack features two tickets, two sodas and two hot dogs, all for only $35.

Tickets for all 2014-15 Wolf Pack home games are now on sale at the XL Center ticket office, on-line at www.hartfordwolfpack.com and by phone at (877) 522-8499.  Wolf Pack tickets start as low as $12 for youth 12 years old or younger.
