Dec 3, 2018

Wolf Pack general manager Chris Drury announced today that the parent New York Rangers have reassigned forward Ryan Gropp (pictured) from the Wolf Pack to its ECHL affiliate, the Maine Mariners, and that the Wolf Pack has released forward Terrence Wallin from his Professional Tryout (PTO) agreement and returned him to the Mariners.

Gropp, a second-year pro out of the Western Hockey League and a second-round (41st overall) pick by the Rangers in the 2015 NHL Draft, has skated in 19 games with the Wolf Pack this season, scoring two goals and adding three assists for five points and serving four minutes in penalties.  Last season with Hartford, Gropp played in 59 games and had 14 goals and seven assists for 21 points, along with 14 PIM.

Wallin, who had been signed to a PTO by the Wolf Pack November 19, was scoreless with four shots on goal in four games in a Hartford uniform.  In 13 games in a Mariner uniform this year, the fourth-year pro out of U. Mass-Lowell has three goals and seven assists for 10 points, plus 12 penalty minutes.

The Wolf Pack’s next action is this Wednesday night, December 5, when they travel to Bridgeport to take on the Sound Tigers in a 7:00 PM game.  All of the play-by-play of that battle can be heard live on News Radio 1410 WPOP, and on-line at www.newsradio1410.com and iHeartRadio.  Video streaming is available at theahl.com/AHLTV.
