Dane Byers scored at 16:35 of the third period to lift Hartford to a 5-3 win over Portland at the Hartford Civic Center.

Lauri Korpikoski, Tom Pyatt, and Ivan Baranka also scored for the Wolf Pack, and goaltender Miika Wiikman picked up his third win in as many days with 29 saves.

The Pirates entered the third period down 3-1, but they pulled even on goals by Brian Salcido and Geoff Platt, with Bobby Ryan assisting on each.

The game remained tied until Byers’ game-winner, and former Pirate Pierre Parenteau sealed the win with an empty-net goal in the final minute.

The Wolf Pack have now won a season-high five games and are 11-2-0-0 in their last 13 contests.
