Hartford Wolf Pack vs. Springfield Falcons
Friday, October 26, 2007 - 11:00 PM

Ivan Baranka scored a shorthanded goal to break a scoreless deadlock in the third period, and Hartford eventually prevailed in a shootout, 2-1.
After the teams played 40 minutes of scoreless hockey, Baranka broke down the right wing on a two-on-one and snapped a wrist shot from the top of the face-off circle past Springfield goaltender Jeff Deslauriers just 32 seconds into the final stanza.
Rookie forward Brodie Dupont picked up the lone assist on the play and now has a point in consecutive games (1-1-2).
The Falcons tallied the equalizer with only 42 seconds remaining in regulation. Colin McDonald entered the zone and floated a shot from the right side through a screen, and it squeaked by Hartford goaltender Chris Holt, who replaced Al Montoya to begin the third period.
Hartford had a power play in overtime, but the game remained scoreless through the extra session.
In the shootout, the Wolf Pack received successful attempts from Pierre-Alexandre Parenteau, Alex Bourret, and Greg Moore.
Holt stopped all three Springfield shooters to secure the win for Hartford, which won its first home game of the season (1-2-0-0).
