Wolf Pack Weekly, March 9-15

Wolf Pack Weekly, March 9-15

Mar 9, 2020

The Wolf Pack (31-19-6-5, 73 pts.) endured a frustrating weekend, with home-ice defeats Friday night (1-0) and Saturday night (4-1) to the Hershey Bears and a 4-1 road setback Sunday in Springfield.  J-F Berube nearly matched Hershey’s Vitek Vanecek save-for-save in Friday’s game, making 16 stops, and Nick Jones tallied the only Wolf Pack goal in Saturday’s contest.  Ryan Dmowski netted his fourth goal in 30 AHL games on Sunday.

This week:

The Wolf Pack host the red-hot Providence Bruins at the XL Center on Wednesday night at 7:00, before visiting Springfield on Friday night (7:05) and Bridgeport on Saturday (7:00).

  • This is another chance to take advantage of the Wolf Pack’s “Click It or Ticket Hat Trick Pack”.  The Hat Trick Pack includes two tickets, two sodas and a large popcorn, all for just $40.
  • This is also a “Suit to Sweater Wednesday”, offered in partnership with the Hartford Chamber of Commerce.  Any fan showing a company ID at the Sunwave Gas & Power Ticket office can purchase Blue-Level tickets to Wolf Pack Wednesday home games for only $15 each (limit two tickets per ID).
  • The Bruins (37-18-3-3, 80 pts.) come into the week riding an 11-game winning streak, the second-longest in the AHL this year, and have climbed to within one point of division-leading Hershey in the Atlantic Division.
  • A 3-2 defeat to the Bruins March 1 was the first regulation loss in the season series for the Wolf Pack, who are 6-1-0-1 on the year vs. Providence, 3-1-0-0 at home.
  • Providence point and goal-scoring leader Jack Studnicka (23-26-49 in 59 GP) now has 12 more points than the next highest-scoring Bruin, having notched at least a point in six straight games (3-5-8) and ten of the last 11 (5-8-13).
  • Tickets for this game, and all 2019-20 Wolf Pack home games, are on sale now at the Sunwave Gas & Power Ticket Office at the XL Center, on-line at www.hartfordwolfpack.com and by phone at (860) 722-9425.  Tickets purchased in advance for kids 12 or younger start at just $10 each, and all tickets will have a $3 day-of-game increase.

  • Sunday’s victory over the Wolf Pack snapped an 0-3-1-0 drought for the Thunderbirds, who begin the week eight points behind the Wolf Pack in the Atlantic Division standings.
  • Veteran goaltender Philippe Desrosiers made 34 saves against the Wolf Pack in Springfield’s 4-1 win Sunday, and has stopped 70 of 72 shots in the last two meetings between the two clubs.
