The Wolf Pack (22-39-4-2, 50 pts., .373) went 1-3-0-0 in a busy week this past week.  After finishing a season-high stretch of six straight road games with a 5-2 loss at Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Tuesday night, the Wolf Pack played three home games over the weekend, starting with a 3-1 defeat vs. Providence on Friday night, a contest in which Magnus Hellberg made a team season-high 46 saves.  The Wolf Pack then got back into the win column on Saturday night against Bridgeport, with Michael Joly striking for two goals and an assist to spark a 4-3 victory.  The P-Bruins were back at the XL Center on Sunday, and rode three second-period goals to a 5-2 triumph over the Wolf Pack.

This week:  The Wolf Pack complete a four-game homestand Friday night at the XL Center against Hershey, with faceoff at 7:15 PM, and then head to Albany for a 5:00 game on Saturday and to Providence for a 3:00 contest on Sunday.

Friday, March 31 vs. the Hershey Bears (Washington) at the XL Center, 7:15 PM

  • At this and every Friday-night home game this season, fans can enjoy $1 hot dogs and $2 beers through the start of the second period, presented by iHeartRadio.
  • The Bears had a six-game winning streak snapped Saturday in a 4-3 loss at St. John’s, but rebounded the next afternoon to top the IceCaps, 2-1.
  • This is the last of eight games on the season between the Wolf Pack and Hershey, and the Wolf Pack are 2-4-1-0 thus far in the season series, 1-2-0-0 at home.
  • Hershey winger Paul Carey scored four goals against the Wolf Pack in the teams’ last meeting, a 6-4 Bear win March 18 in Hershey, earning a callup to the parent Washington Capitals.

Saturday, April 1 at the Albany Devils (New Jersey) at the Times Union Center, 5:00 PM

  • This is the first visit of the season by the Wolf Pack to Albany, where the Pack were 1-2-0-0 in three trips last season.  In two earlier battles this season at the XL Center, the Wolf Pack lost 4-3 in overtime to the Devils November 25 and 3-1 in regulation on New Year’s Eve.
  • Albany comes into the week on an 0-3-1-2 slide in its last six games, and in a virtual tie with St. John’s for the last playoff spot in the North Division.
  • Forward Ben Sexton is the Devils’ leading goal-scorer, with 19, and his total of 31 points in 53 games leads all players currently on the Albany roster.

Sunday, April 2 at the Providence Bruins (Boston) at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center Providence, 3:05 PM

  • Providence centerman Austin Czarnik, who has seen action in 49 NHL games with the parent Boston Bruins this year (5-8-13), has four points in his last two Providence outings, with a goal and an assist in a 5-0 victory Saturday at Albany and a goal and a helper in the Bruins’ 5-2 win over the Wolf Pack at the XL Center on Sunday.
  • This is the last of ten battles on the year between the Wolf Pack and the P-Bruins, and the Wolf Pack are 3-5-0-1 in head-to-head competition so far.  The Pack won its last visit to Providence, 5-2, on January 22, after going 0-2-0-1 in the first three.
  • The P-Bruins have won three straight and five of their last six, and enter the week tied with Hershey for third place in the Atlantic Division, five points ahead of fifth-place Bridgeport.
