Wolf Pack Weekly, March 11-17

Mar 11, 2019

The Wolf Pack (26-28-6-3, 61 pts., .484) won two of their three games this past week, with both wins coming outside regulation time.  On Friday night in Wilkes-Barre, the Wolf Pack completed their six-game season series with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins by scoring a 3-2 shootout win.  Drew Melanson scored his first career AHL goal in that game, Ryan Gropp notched his third tally in two games, Sean Day had two assists and Bobby Butler scored the only goal in the shootout.  The next night, the Wolf Pack pulled out a 3-2 overtime victory at Springfield, where they had been 0-3-0-0 on the year.  John Gilmour’s 18th goal of the year, which ties a Wolf Pack franchise record for most goals in a season by a defenseman, was the OT winner, and Vinni Lettieri had a goal and an assist.  A three-game Wolf Pack winning streak came to an end on Sunday at home against Hershey, as Hartford fell 5-3 to the Bears, despite Lettieri striking for his first pro hat trick.  Goaltender Adam Huska, fresh off the conclusion of a three-year career at UConn, made his professional debut in that game and stopped 25 shots.
