Wolf Pack Recall Jeff Malcolm from Greenville

Oct 15, 2013

Wolf Pack general manager Jim Schoenfeld announced today that the Wolf Pack has recalled goaltender Jeff Malcolm from its ECHL affiliate, the Greenville Road Warriors.

Malcolm, who was assigned to the Road Warriors from the Wolf Pack’s training camp September 30, capped off a four-year Yale career this spring by backstopping the Elis to the first-ever “Frozen Four” title in school history.  The 6-2, 185-pound native of Lethbridge, Alberta was 20-6-2 in 30 appearances for the Elis in 2012-13, with a 2.24 goals-against average, a 91.9% save percentage and three shutouts.  Those numbers represented the second-highest single-season win total, the third-best save percentage and fourth-lowest GAA in Yale Men’s Hockey history.  Malcolm also finished second among ECAC goaltenders in wins and tied for third in shutouts.

In his four years at Yale, Malcolm appeared in 67 games, amassing a record of 36-21-4 with a 2.60 GAA, a 90.7% save percentage and six shutouts.  Those stats rank him third all-time in school annals in save percentage and wins and fourth in GAA.

Malcolm, 24, signed an AHL contract with the Wolf Pack July 17.

The Wolf Pack are next in action this Friday, October 18, hosting the Manchester Monarchs at the XL Center.  Faceoff is 7:00 PM, and, as at all Friday-night Wolf Pack home games, fans can enjoy $1 hot dogs and $2 beers until the start of the second period.
