Wolf Pack Celebrate Hartford Hockey Heritage Weekend this Friday and Saturday

Jan 27, 2015

The Wolf Pack will honor 40 years of pro hockey history in Hartford with a “Hartford Hockey Heritage Weekend” celebration at the team’s home games this Friday and Saturday, January 30 and 31.

The Wolf Pack host the Bridgeport Sound Tigers at the XL Center on Friday night, and the Springfield Falcons visit on Saturday night.  Both games face off at 7:00 PM.

At Friday night’s game, the first 3,000 fans will receive a Hartford Hockey poster, arrayed with classic photographs of Hartford Whaler and Wolf Pack action, courtesy of Toasted.  Also, fans can view the AHL’s Calder Cup at both Hartford Hockey Heritage Weekend games, and can also enjoy a collection of game-worn Whaler and Wolf Pack jerseys exhibited by the MeiGray Group.  This includes sweaters worn by Whaler luminaries Gordie, Mark and Marty Howe, Larry Pleau and Rick Meagher, as well as a Peter Fiorentino jersey from the Wolf Pack’s inaugural season of 1997-98.

Then, on Saturday night, there will be another exciting promotional giveaway, as the first 2,000 fans into the game will take home a Wolf Pack team trading card set, presented by Team Ferior.  In addition to that, the Hockey Hall of Fame will be exhibiting a collection of Hartford-oriented memorabilia, featuring an extensive display of mementos from Hartford hockey greats like Ron Francis, Mark Howe and Ken Gernander.

Advance sales have Saturday’s game closing in on a lower-bowl sellout.
