New York Rangers General Manager Jeff Gorton announced today that the team has recalled defenseman Raphael Diaz from the Wolf Pack.

Diaz, 30, skated in 37 games with the Wolf Pack this season, registering six goals and 15 assists for 21 points, along with a plus-11 rating and 16 penalty minutes. He ranked second on Hartford – and led team defensemen – in plus/minus rating in 2015-16. In addition, Diaz led Wolf Pack defensemen in points per game this season (0.57). He registered a point in six of his final seven contests (one goal, six assists), as well as nine of his final 11 games (two goals, eight assists over the span).

The 6-0, 197-pounder has skated in 201 career NHL games over four seasons with the Rangers, Montreal, Vancouver, and Calgary, registering eight goals and 41 assists for 49 points, along with 62 penalty minutes. Diaz played 56 games with Calgary during the 2014-15 season, recording four points (two goals, two assists) and 10 penalty minutes. He has also skated in 12 career NHL playoff contests.

Diaz skated in 11 regular season games with the Rangers during the 2013-14 season, registering two points (one goal, one assist), along with a plus-five rating and four penalty minutes. He also played four playoff games with the Blueshirts that season, helping the team advance to the Stanley Cup Final.
