Rangers Assign Georgiev to Pack, Recall Mazanec

New York Rangers General Manager Jeff Gorton announced today that the team has recalled goaltender Marek Mazanec from the Wolf Pack. In addition, the Blueshirts have assigned goaltender Alexandar Georgiev (pictured) to Hartford.

Mazanec has appeared in nine games with Hartford this season, posting a 3-4-2 record, along with a 3.11 GAA and a .889 SV%. He has helped the Wolf Pack earn at least one point in each of his last three appearances, posting a 1-0-2 record, along with a 1.89 GAA and a .938 SV% (90 saves on 96 shots) over the three contests. Mazanec stopped 28 of 29 shots he faced in regulation and overtime, stopped six of seven shooters he faced in the shootout, and was selected as the game’s Second Star on Nov. 4 at Hershey. He was recalled by the Rangers on Oct. 18 and dressed for the Blueshirts’ game on Oct. 21 against Calgary.

Georgiev has appeared in four games with the Rangers this season, posting a 3-1-0 record, along with a 3.62 GAA and a .897 SV%. He has earned a win in each of his last three appearances, and he has posted a 2.53 GAA and a .925 SV% over those three contests. Georgiev has also appeared in two games with the Wolf Pack in 2018-19, and he has posted a 1-1-0 record, along with a 3.02 GAA and a .905 SV% with Hartford.
