Oscar Lindberg scored his fifth goal in three games Sunday at the Traverse City, MI NHL Prospects Tournament, but the Ranger prospect team fell to 0-2-1 in the tourney with a 4-2 loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets prospects.

Oliver Bjorkstrand scored the game-winning goal and added an assist for Columbus, and Ryan Murray, Austin Madaisky and Peter Sakaris also scored Blue Jacket goals. Boone Jenner had two assists. Josh Nicholls tallied the other New York goal.

Oscar Dansk got the win in net for the Blue Jackets with 21 saves. Mackenzie Skapski took the loss in the Ranger goal, stopping 31 shots.

Columbus got the jump quickly, scoring twice in the first 2:53. Murray opened the scoring off of a Jenner assist at 2:25, and Madaisky made it a 2-0 lead only 28 seconds later.

That was it until the 12:24 mark of the second period, when Bjorkstrand widened the Blue Jackets’ advantage to 3-0, with Jenner again picking up the primary assist.

Lindberg replied only 13 seconds thereafter, at 12:37, to get New York on the board. The lone helpout on that goal went to Danny Kristo, who is tied with Lindberg for the Ranger team scoring lead at five points apiece. Kristo has a goal and four assists in New York’s three games.

Sakaris put the Blue Jackets back up by three with 1:12 remaining in the second, before Nicholls completed the scoring with his second goal of the tournament at 13:31 of the third period.

The final tournament game for Wolf Pack head coach Ken Gernander and his Ranger team is Monday afternoon at 3:30 PM, a battle with the Minnesota Wild prospects.
