Pack players, staff help celebrate "Read Across America" week

Mar 9, 2020

Various Hartford Wolf Pack players and staff have fanned out across the Hartford market in recent days, in celebration of “Read Across America Week” and Dr. Seuss’ birthday.  The Wolf Pack personnel shared their love of reading with a number of Connecticut kids of varying age groups.

Last Monday, March 2, Wolf Pack captain Steven Fogarty and leading scorer Vinni Lettieri visited Connecticut Children’s Medical Center, reading their favorite Dr. Seuss books, and honing their Lego-building skills, with young patients.  Also on Monday, play-by-play announcer Bob Crawford joined the Wolf Pack’s iconic mascot, Sonar, in visiting Hanmer Elementary School in Wethersfield for its Dr. Seuss’ birthday celebration.

On Thursday, March 5, Wolf Pack forward Gabriel Fontaine headed to Kensington Nursery School in Berlin, where he helped inspire the little ones’ affection for reading with his rendition of Dr. Seuss favorites, while Sonar brought joy and excitement to all in attendance.  Finally, Sonar and Wolf Pack vice-president of business operations Erik Hansen were on hand at Hatton Elementary School in Southington on Friday morning, March 6, for more Dr. Seuss fun and enjoyment.

Further information on these, or any other Wolf Pack community initiatives, is available by contacting Wolf Pack community relations manager Frank Berrian, at (860) 541-4728 or frank.berrian@spectraxp.com.

The next action for the Wolf Pack is back on home ice at the XL Center this Wednesday night, March 11, a 7:00 battle with the Providence Bruins.  That is another chance to take advantage of the Wolf Pack’s “Click It or Ticket Hat Trick Pack”.  The Hat Trick Pack includes two tickets, two sodas and one large popcorn, all for just $40.
