Jan 6, 2015

The American Hockey League today named Wolf Pack forward Chris Bourque to the Eastern Conference squad for the 2015 AHL All-Star Classic presented by Turning Stone Resort Casino, which will take place January 25 & 26 at the Utica Memorial Auditorium in Utica, NY.

Bourque, a tenth-year pro signed as a free agent by the parent New York Rangers July 2, 2014, leads the Wolf Pack club in points, goals and assists, with 14-16-30 in 33 games.  Those numbers place the Boston native tied for fifth in the AHL in goals and tied for 11th in points.  Bourque is also tied for fourth among AHL skaters in power-play goals, with six.

A three-time Calder Cup champion (2006, 2009, 2010) with the Hershey Bears, Bourque captured the Jack Butterfield Trophy as the AHL Playoff MVP in 2010, when he totaled seven goals and 20 assists for 27 points in 21 postseason games for Hershey.  Also the winner of the 2011-12 AHL scoring title (27-66-93 in 73 games with the Bears), Bourque will be making his third career AHL All-Star appearance, after having also skated in the 2009 and 2012 AHL All-Star Classics.  The 28-year-old Bourque has appeared in 470 career AHL contests with the Bears, Providence Bruins and Wolf Pack, amassing totals of 156 goals and 307 assists for 463 points, along with 322 penalty minutes.

Originally a second-round selection (33rd overall) by the Washington Capitals in the 2004 NHL Draft, Bourque  has also logged 51 career NHL games, with the Capitals, Pittsburgh Penguins and Boston Bruins, scoring two goals and adding six assists for eight points and serving 18 minutes in penalties.
