Talk about well-deserved…

P.A. Parenteau was a one-man gang for much of the Wolf Pack’s two-wins-out-of-three-games weekend, was leading the AHL in goals and was tied for the league lead in points.

And now he’s gotten the summons to join the big club.

Parenteau was recalled this afternoon, ostensibly in case Marian Gaborik, who was unable to finish last night’s win over Phoenix, cannot go in tomorrow’s Ranger visit to the Islanders.

You certainly hope, for the organization’s and for Gaborik’s sake, that the Ranger scoring leader is OK and will be able to play, but it’s hard to come up with anyone in the AHL who deserves a shot to get some NHL time more than Parenteau. And if Gaborik can’t play, to me Parenteau is a perfect guy to slip into his slot. I’d be really interested to see what Parenteau could do with a chance to play on an NHL first line and get some power play time.

Chris, I totally agree. There is not a shadow of a doubt in my mind that Parenteau is an NHL player.

now that i give it a seccond thought. i think your right about pa. in hockey so many unexpected things can happen and we should not specualte how long he will stay in NY. however i think even you can agree that regardless of weather he stays up in the big show peramently or for a short period of time he's defenetly shown that he deserves to stay in NY or another NHL team if the rangers dont give to much of an NHL chance.

Chris, I try never to speculate on how long a guy might or might not stay in the NHL. Once they get there and get a chance to play, so many different things can happen that I don't think it makes any sense to speculate.

do you know if Parenteau's stay with the rangers will be long term or short tearm. if you ask me he desreves to stay in the nhl long tearm. however since he got called up on a case of Marian Gaborik not beaing able to finnsih a game over Phoenix i would say that wheather or not Parenteau gets a long term stay will be determined by how long Marian Gaborik is out. i mean both players off to a really great start. and i would think the rangers would want to keep that going and get Marian Gaborik back on the ice as soon as possible. and when that happends i would guess that they would send pa down to hartfrod where he is off to a great start as well. but that's olny a guess. i could be totally wrong.

im rather glad to here the car accident was not searious. however when it comes to the health and well being of your players it is not always a good idea to play them in the case of injury. even if it's not searious engough to keep him out for more than a cupple of days defore he plays again he soud make sure that there are no late sideafects and that's he's 100% readdy to go.

Liz, I do not know how serious Sauer's injury was, but he practiced today, so I'm guessing it's not major.

I saw the hit Sauer took on Sunday. Do you know how serious his shoulder injury is, or when he'll be back?

Chris, apparently Henrik Lundqvist did get into a minor car accident on his way to practice this morning, but was not injured. Steve Zipay of Newsday has a mention of it in his "Blue Notes" blog at http://www.newsday.com/blogs/sports/blue-notes-1.811976.

while watching something on tv i could have swarn i heard that rangers starting goalie got in a car acident. can you conform if this is true or not. and if it true is let's hope it's not to searious.
